Carex plantaginea Lam., Plantain-leaved Sedge (Section CAREYANAE)

Carex plantaginea is rare in Renfrew County, found in rich woods. It is distict with its broad, puckered, evergreen leaves (Figures 4 and 6) with reddish-purple basal sheaths; easily recognizable any time of the year.
