A comparative study

Carex flava L., Yellow Sedge (Section CERATOCYSTIS)

Carex flava is an uncommon wetland sedge occupying the southern portion of Renfrew County. It is superficially very similar to Carex cryptolepis but Carex flava prefers calcareous soils, has scales that are dark, contrasting wih the perigynia, and has scabrous perigynia beaks.
