The genus Carex of Renfrew County:
A comparative study

Carex debilis Michx. var rudgei Bailey, Rudge's Sedge (Section HYMENOCHLAENAE)

Carex debilis is common in the northwestern portion of Renfrew County. It is an early summer species of woodland edges, open fields and ditches favoring sandy soils. All specimens appear to be var rudgei.
