A comparative study

Carex gracillima Schwein., Graceful Sedge (Section HYMENOCHLAENAE)

Carex gracillima is widespread in Renfrew County. It is an early summer species growing in woodlands. From a distance it could be confused with C. arctata or C. debilis but C. gracillima usually has a gynecandrous terminal spike.
