The genus Carex of Renfrew County:
A comparative study

Carex folliculata L., Northern Long Sedge (Section ROSTRALES)

Carex folliculata is rare in Renfrew County. Apart from one 35 year old herbarium specimen, it is more recently known from a single plant I photographed in Bonnechere River Provincial Park. More specimens are anticipated from the Bonnechere River watershed because another record has been reported nearby in the same watershed across the County Line in Algonquin Park (see Figure 7). The photographs on this page are from Parry Sound District specimens.
