Carex oligosperma Michx., Few-seeded Sedge (Section VESICARIAE)

Carex oligosperma is common in the northwestern portion of Renfrew County. Carex oligosperma is common in bogs and is known for its very shiny perigynia with short beaks. As the name implies, the inflorescence has very few perigynia/seeds - usually four to six but often one or none.
