Carex utriculata Boott, Northern Beaked Sedge (Section VESICARIAE)
Carex utriculata is common and widespread in Renfrew County. It is found in open bogs and wetlands. In older records Carex utriculata was lumped with Carex rostrata but inspection of all of these herbaria specimens confirms that all Renfrew County specimens labelled as Carex rostrata are actually Carex utriculata. So far, Carex rostrata is not known from Renfrew County.
