Section AMMOGLOCHIN
Only one species from Section AMMOGLOCHIN is found in Renfrew County.
Carex siccata Dew., Dry-spike Sedge
Carex siccata is a plant of sandy openings in pine plantations (Figure 4), sand dunes, and sandy fields. As seen from the distribution map, this species appears to be concentrated in the northwestern portion of Renfrew County where sandy loam/loamy sand is the dominant soil type. Plants are colonial on long rhizomes (Figure 4).
