The genus Carex of Renfrew County:
A comparative study

Carex cephaloidea (Dewey) Dewey, Thin-leaved Sedge (Section PHAESTOGLOCHIN)

This species seems to be rare in Renfrew County. Although there are no nearby verified herbarium records, it has been found at two Renfrew County locations. The species is found in upland habitats and is known for its loose, white-mottled leaf sheaths (Figures 3 and 4).
