Carex merritt-fernaldii Mack., Fernald's Sedge (Section OVALES)

Carex merritt-fernaldii is common in the sandy soils of the northwestern portion of Renfrew County. Key characteristics of Carex merritt-fernaldii are large translucent perigynia with erose wings.
