The genus Carex of Renfrew County:
A comparative study

By Grant A. Bickel, 2020

Carex projecta Mack., Necklace Sedge (Section OVALES)

Carex projecta is common in Renfrew County. Like Carex cristatella, Carex projecta has loose leaf sheaths and vegetative culms (leaves ascending the culm). However, Carex projecta generally has wider internodes on the inflorescence and the spikelets are clearly not spherical when compared to C. cristatella
