The genus Carex of Renfrew County:
A comparative study

Carex tenera Dew., Tender Sedge (Section OVALES)

Carex tenera seems to be less than common in Renfrew County. It is a species of wet meadows and open woodlands with a nodding inflorescence. It is unique amongst the species from Section OVALES in Renfrew County with its prolonged staminate region at the base of each spikelet (see Figure 2).
