The genus Carex of Renfrew County:
A comparative study

By Grant A. Bickel, 2020

Section STELLULATAE

Three species from Section STELLULATAE are found in Renfrew County. These species might be confused with Section PHAESTOGLOCHIN but in contrast, Section STELLULATAE are all wetland species with gynecandrous spikelets. Carex interior could be confused with Carex echinata but closer examination provides obvious clues to separate these two species (See Figures 1 and 2).
